Banksia Villages is an aged care refurbishment creating two smaller household living environments, improved garden access and a new on-site café. A 2021 consultation and Dementia Training Australia workshop with staff identified challenges in orientation, independence, outdoor access and institutional living environments. The completed works improve autonomy, familiarity, social connection and resident wellbeing.
