Aldersgate is an aged care redevelopment supporting a transition from institutional living to a smaller household model. Consultation and design development were guided by Dementia Training Australia Design Principles, focusing on everyday activity, independence and orientation. The project established four households with accessible domestic kitchens, improved garden and courtyard connections, clearer way finding and access to an on-site wellness centre and club
