Foster House, Supported Accommodation

The Salvation Army contacted Constructive Dialogue at a time that they were implementing program changes at Foster House. These focused on case management to encourage clients towards more stable lifestyles, rather than only providing crisis accommodation. We supported this approach through a series of changes to the building by:

> organising entry around an intake process that encouraged clients to have a meal, a wash and a chat with staff.
> opening up the main stair area to visually connect the IPU, detox and longer term accommodation as a continuum of care.
> establishing space for small, private conversations - sitting nooks, interview booths and sheltered smoking areas.
