Hill Street House
Five Dock

Due to regular changes in tenant, the client required a building that would accommodate differing preferences, family sizes and needs. This required consideration of accessibility and a configuration that would allow different use of the spaces. The design:

> ensured costs were kept low through use of standard fittings, a simple form and low-cost, robust materials.
> located the kitchen adjacent a front, sun-lit terrace to encourage residents to sit outside and relate to passers-by.
> ensured that the building could be cooled naturally through use of cross-ventilation, fans and high-level louvres.
