Prior to founding Constructive Dialogue, Nick worked for commercial practices in Sydney. Dissatisfied with the lack of community or social consideration in those projects, he left Australia and worked for community-based organisations in Nepal, Thailand and PNG coordinating a range of building programs. During that period he completed a masters at the University of Oregon on community building process with funding from the NSW Board of Architects and the Asian Coalition for Housing Rights. The methodology developed during that time fed directly into the approach now taken by Constructive Dialogue. It has proven effective at involving staff and building users in the design process. Nick has also taught university programs and corporate workshops that focused on social considerations in design.
